Hot Chocolate Spoons | A Beautiful Mess
I don’t drink coffee or tea. I figure this is probably a good thing as I already have enough vices, and drink Diet Coke daily! But when I am in the mood for something warm (especially in Winter) I love hot chocolate. And I couldn’t think of anything nicer than stirring one with one of these delicious looking hot chocolate spoons. I would need to hide them though so people didn’t eat them directly off the spoon…

Lace iPhone Case | Hey! Look What I Made!
I have learnt the hard way that iPhones require protection. Unlike other phones, they will smash and crack at the slightest look (or…if you drop them on the bitumen outsid of work…) You can get super cheap cases from the $2 shops, but they usually look cheap too! I love this DIY makeover created with some lace and spray paint. You may want to seal the paint with some Mod Podge so you prolong the life of the cover.

Console Table Bookshelf | Teal & Lime

Though I love my house, space is at a premium, and I find that I need to keep furniture to a minimum or it starts to feel messy and overstuffed. At the moment I have a large cube next to one of my sofas, but it is too big and sticks out like a sore thumb. There’s no room either side of the sofa for the thinnest table, so this bookshelf/table is perfect. Plus, as someone who failed Tech Studies (oh how I wished I had paid attention instead of writing poems and talking) the easiness of this project makes me confident that I could make this on my own!

DIY project: Make yarn out of newspaper.
The tutorial — using newspaper, a pair of scissors, and a spindle — makes the yarn-making process look easy.

Confetti Eggs | Oh Happy Day

These confetti eggs are a traditional Easter party item, but I think they would be perfect for New Years Eve! You’re meant to smash them over each other’s heads, so if you decide to use these you might want to have a less fancy bash or at least warn anyone who has copious amounts of gel or hairspray in their hair, or anyone who spent the day at the salon getting their hair done. That’s for guys and girls! Or you could go for something else inside the eggs, like confetti (though that might be hard to get out of hair too!)

Lace Lamp Shade | Add Some Paint
This lamp shade follows the same lines as the coffee table I posted earlier - you simply wrap it in lace, spray with spray paint and peel off the lace- voila! You’re very own designer shades! And the fact that you can get lamp shades so cheap from places like IKEA, you can change up whenever you want. And of course if you don’t like lace you can use any other kind of pattern - use some store bought stencils or cut out your own.

Recycled Tshirt Dishcloths | Dollar Store Crafts
I’m sure we all have dodgy old tshirts around the house that we no longer wish to wear but can’t bear to throw out! I love the idea of creating dishcloths out of them - especially because you can then chuck them in the wash to clean them and re-use them over and over again! This would be a great housewarming gift - add some really fancy washing liquid, gloves and tea towels!
